Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel is proving to be a major milestone in his career, achieving break-even in just six days. With a theatrical business target of around ₹40 crores, reports suggest that the film has already hit that mark. As per the trade buzz, the film has already grossed over ₹70 crores.
Meanwhile, as the crucial second-week approaches, hopes are high for a continued strong box office run. With the deadline for increased ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh ending today, distributors are optimistic about a boost in collections from the region. Moreover, the producers are confident to push the film to the 100 Cr club.
New releases like Laila and Brahma Anandham don’t pose a significant threat, as they lack star-studded casts. Thandel also benefits from the fact that Vishwak Sen’s latest film has received an A certificate, limiting its appeal to family audiences. As a result, Thandel remains the preferred choice for the general audience.
The production team has no plans to slow down promotions and is strategizing ways to sustain momentum during weekdays. Given the lineup of mid-range films releasing on February 21, if Thandel maintains its current traction, it could deliver Naga Chaitanya’s career-best numbers.
