The Ambani family is known for its enormous business empire, but the family is also making headlines for its charity initiatives. In a major move, Nita Ambani has announced a special project aimed at providing shelter and care to 5,000 people who have no one to depend on.
Named Nita Ambani Anant Ashray, the project was announced on Nita Ambani’s birthday. It is planned as a township for orphaned children, senior citizens without family support and people with disabilities.
The idea is to bring different sections of vulnerable people under one roof and provide them with a safe place to live, along with proper facilities and care. The project also had its foundation ceremony.
The initiative will be managed under the Reliance Foundation, with Nita Ambani and her younger son Anant Ambani associated with the project.
While many charitable organisations run separate homes for children and elderly people, a township planned to accommodate 5,000 people is an ambitious initiative. The project reflects the Ambani family’s focus on expanding its social welfare activities beyond its business interests.
