Speed-Breaker Ahead For Rashmika’s Success Streak?

Star actress Rashmika Mandanna is on a roll by scoring three consecutive blockbusters with Animal, Pushpa 2 and Chhaava. She is currently the most trending actress in Indian cinema with a high success rate. However, it looks like Rashmika’s success streak will break with her upcoming film Sikandar.

Starring Salman Khan in the lead role, Sikandar is directed by AR Murugadoss. Rashmika is the female lead in it. Ever since the release of its first teaser, Sikander has been trolled heavily on social media. People opined that the film looks like an outdated generic masala entertainer rather than a fresh out-of-the-box venture. They didn’t expect such a product from Murgadoss.

The recently released song “Zohra Jabeen” further increased the criticism of the movie. Netizens alleged that VFX was used to showcase Salman’s physique in this song. Several tweets flooded on X trolling this below-par CG work by the team. Moreover, even Rashmika’s look in the movie isn’t getting an encouraging response from the audience.

In films like Animal, Pushpa 2, and Chhaava, Rashmika got author-backed roles. In some scenes, she proved her acting prowess by delivering exceptional performances on par with those of Ranbir Kapoor, Allu Arjun, and Vicky Kaushal. However, it looks like she was just used like a glam doll in Sikandar.

With release just three weeks away, it is highly tough for Sikandar to gain good openings due to this criticism and negative feedback from the audience. Hopefully, the makers come up with an engaging theatrical trailer which may help in getting good openings for the film. Sikandar will have its worldwide release on Eid 2025.
