The Codava National Council (CNC), a governing body for the rights of the Kodava community, urged the Karnataka and Union Home Ministers to provide security to actress Rashmika Mandanna, raising concerns over her safety. CNC requested the state and union Home Ministeries to provide tight security to Rashmika amid ongoing political controversy around her.
Recently, a Congress MLA from the Mandya constituency, Ravi Ganiga, accused Rashmika of disrespecting the Kannada film industry by not attending the Bengaluru International Film Festival. Ganiga stated that despite starting her career in the Kannada film industry with Kirik Party, Rashmika disrespects her home state and its film industry.
He alleged that Rashmika never attended the Bengaluru International Film Festival despite being invited multiple times. “Shouldn’t we teach them a lesson?” the MLA questioned. These statements raised concern over Rashmika’s security.
In his complaint, CNC President Nandinervanda Nachappa alleged that the actress is being unnecessarily involved in political controversies and called it mental harassment. He noted that her success didn’t come through political influence and argued that it shouldn’t be used for political agendas.
When asked about these concerns from CNC, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that he didn’t receive any such letter but assured to review the matter.
