Finally, TDP Recognise ‘Thoda Kottina Ammayi’

The Telugu Desam Party went through its most treacherous period in the earlier YCP tenure when the party got confined to 23 seats and found it really hard to express its dissent. However, even amidst such adversities, the party found a few vocal fighters and one of them is Kavali Greeshma.

Incidentally, the hardworking and vocal Greeshma has now been rewarded with an MLC position. Telugu Desam officially communicated that Greeshma is their candidate for the coming MLC election and her nomination is only going to be a formality now.

Earlier, Greeshma had delivered a fighting speech at the 2022 Mahanadu and threw a strong verbal challenge to the YCP cadres then. She even fearlessly challenged Jagan and came up with such a strong speech that rattled YCP and instilled new fighting spirit in TDP cadres.

“I don’t care even if Jagan himself comes on a bus tour. We will fight back and make sure they are shown their place. We will be fight back with all our will” the lady said while she slapped her thigh at the Mahanadu meeting. This “Thodakottina” moment was one of the hallmark moments TDP’s resurgence as it displayed the party’s fighter spirit.

She displayed great fighting spirit and this triggered a new sense of warring emotions amongst the TDP cadres then.

Moreover, Greeshma has a rich lineage that is associated with TDP. Her mother Prathibha Bharathi is a fierce supporter of TDP and is one of the most vocal supporters of the party for many decades and a 5 time MLA as well, apart from being first female speaker of AP assembly and subsequently holding multiple cabinet portfolios.

Greeshma hoped to contest in the 2019 assembly elections but Chandrababu had to delay this prospect due to the extreme competition for tickets then. This disappointment for Greeeshma got aggravated after something extremely unfortunate happened to her at a personal level as her son had tragically passed away.

After enduring so much trauma, she still stood firm for TDP and proved to be a female fighter of the highest order. And now, after all these years of struggle, the famous “Thodakottina Ammayi” of TDP has been rewarded with an MLC ticket which she rightly deserves.
