Bollywood actor Govinda has an interesting aura and everytime he comes on the screen, the audiences will be left in splits. He is considered one of the all time great actors in Bollywood. In a recent podcast, Govinda surprisingly revealed that Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron offered him 18 Cr rupees to act in the 2009 sci-fi blockbuster Avatar. Not just that, it was Govinda who suggested the title ‘Avatar’ for the film.
Govinda declined the opportunity to work with James Cameron back then. When Govinda was in the USA, he met a Sikh businessman who connected him with James Cameron. Govinda had declined the film when James Cameron revealed that the film’s hero is handicapped.
“James Cameron offered me Rs 18 crore for it and said I would be required to shoot for 410 days. I said that is okay, but if I paint my body, I will be in the hospital,” said Govinda.
“Our body is the only instrument we have. At times, some things appear very appealing professionally, but you also have to consider their effects on your body,” said Govinda that it is tough sometimes to say NO to people very close to us.
The sci-fi epic, Avatar which was released in 2009 featured Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver. The film’s sequel Avatar: The Way of Water was released in 2022.
