Unity Of South Beyond Politics: TG, TN & KA Stand By AP!

At a time when Andhra Pradesh is dealing with extensive damage caused by Cyclone Arnab, the support extended by three neighbouring states has emerged as a major boost to relief and restoration efforts.

All thanks to CM Chandrababu Naidu’s able leadership and coordination which has brought neighbouring South Indian states together to support AP during one of its toughest moments. 

After the massive destruction caused by severe Cyclone Arnab, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have extended emergency assistance, deploying thousands of electricity department personnel and specialised machinery to speed up power restoration.

The cyclone caused extensive damage to power infrastructure across several coastal districts, uprooting more than 15,000 electricity poles and disrupting power supply in several areas.

With restoration emerging as an immediate priority, Chandrababu Naidu reached out to neighbouring state governments seeking assistance. Responding to his request, the governments of Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu quickly mobilised their resources and sent teams to Andhra Pradesh.

The scale of support extended by neighbouring states reflects Chandrababu’s cordial relations and his hard work, sincerity and the goodwill Naidu has built among political leadership across the region.

It can be noted that Telangana has deployed around 2,000 electricity department personnel, along with emergency vehicles and repair equipment, to support power restoration in AP. Karnataka has sent 500 skilled workers, 15 Palfinger trucks fitted with heavy-duty cranes and earth augers, and 25 tractor-mounted drilling machines to speed up the replacement of damaged electricity poles.

Tamil Nadu has also extended support by deploying a 500-member electricity department team following coordination between CM Chandrababu Naidu and CM Vijay.

These neighbouring state personnel are working alongside AP electricity officials to clear damaged infrastructure, restore snapped high-tension wires and repair local power lines.

The quick and timely mobilisation of manpower, specialised machinery and emergency resources highlights the importance of inter-state coordination during natural disasters.

While the immediate challenge is to restore electricity and bring normalcy back to cyclone-affected areas, the solidarity shown by Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu also reflects the strength of regional cooperation.

For Chandrababu, bringing neighbouring states together to support AP during a difficult situation reflects his ability to coordinate with fellow state leaders, irrespective of political differences.

While Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are governed by Congress-led alliances and Andhra Pradesh is part of the NDA, the timely assistance highlights how regional solidarity can rise above political equations. It is a reminder that humanity and South Indian unity come before politics.

Not to forget that, earlier during Cyclone Hudhud in 2014, it was Chandrababu who restored the infra and brought normalcy with his strong leadership and disaster management abilities.
