Gaddar Awards Finally Happening: When And How?

After discontinuing the Nandi Awards program after the bifurcation, the Telangana government didn’t bother about presenting film awards in the 10 years of BRS tenure. But congress chief minister Revanth Reddy was very particular about this aspect, right from the start.

Thanks to the persistence of the chief minister, the Telangana government has now initiated the Gaddar awards prospect which has been in discussion for a long time now.

As per the principal communication that was made by the chief minister’s office today, the Gaddar awards will be held in the month of April and nominations for the same will be registered from 13 March.

The award categories are:

Feature Films

National Integration Film

Children’s Film

Film on Environment/Heritage/History

Debut Feature Film

Animated Film

Social Impact Film

Documentary Films

Short Films

The Telangana government has proposed to present Gadda awards in each of these categories for the films, and Content that released between 2014 – 23. One entry, each from each of these years will be announced as the winner of the Gaddar award in April and individuals can file nominations with the Telangana Film Development Corporation from March 13.

Considering the perseverance of chief minister, Revanth Reddy, this award event is now projected to be held in a grand manner. Feature films and even short films are expected to gain most prominence in these award presentations.

With the CM himself so determined, we can expect these awards to be held prestigiously with several Tollywood stars possibly in attendance.
