Kangana Ranaut’s last release was Emergency which flopped at the box office. The film was later made available on Netflix and it is getting a lot of attention from the movie buffs and general audiences. Interestingly, in one of the reviews on social media, a person suggested the film should win an Oscar but Kangana does not want it.
A person wrote in a tweet, “#EmergencyOnNetflix should go for the Oscars from India. Kangana, what a film.”
As soon as Kangana came across the tweet, she said, “But America wouldn’t like to acknowledge its real face, how they bully suppress and arm twist developing nations. It’s been exposed in #Emergency. They can keep their silly Oscar. We have National Awards.”
After Manikarnika, Kangana donned the director’s hat once again for this project. She has directed and produced the film. The movie portrays the turmoil time during the Emergency in 1975 when Indira Gandhi imposed it.
Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman and late actor Satish Kaushik were also a part of it. Emergency is produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films.
