Is Salman Ready For Another South Director?

Director Harish Shankar who scored a dud in last film Mr Bachchan pinned all his hopes on Ustaad Bhagat Singh. But, there are rumors that the project will not move forward. Interestingly, Harish Shankar is also preparing for his Bollywood debut. Mythri Movie Makers is planning a Hindi project featuring Salman Khan, and the story narrated by Harish received a positive response from the superstar.

Now, the fans of Salman Khan and the Bollywood insiders wonder if Salman Khan is really ready for another South director. It is a fact that the stars of Hindi cinema are running after the South filmmakers. Atlee was supposed to direct Salman Khan but it did not happen. Then came AR Murugadoss into the scene. The film in their combination, titled Sikandar which was released during Eid did not do well at the box office.

With Sikandar being a disaster and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan facing severe trolling, Salman’s last major successes were Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The responsibility of delivering a hit and maintaining his reputation now lies on Harish Shankar’s shoulders.

North Indian media has often been skeptical of South Indian directors. Especially, Harish Shankar did not have a big success in the last few years. So, the fans of Salman would naturally want the actor to work with a big director from Bollywood. In such a scenario, can Harish be trusted? remains a question.
