The biopic trend has slowed down a bit in Indian cinema but Bollywood continues to attempt the genre. Now, the news of Soura Ganguly’s biopic has taken the center stage, with Raj Kumar Rao rumored to be playing the lead role. Raj Kumar Rao is known for doing biopics and has a god track record.
Earlier, Raj Kumar Rao played the role of lawyer Shahid Azmi in Shahid. And then, he portrayed the role of Ramachandra Siras in Aligarh. Very recently, he essayed the role of visually challenged industrialist Srikanth Bolla in the biopic Srikanth. Now, he is all set to step into the shoes of former Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly aka The Bengal Tiger aka Dada.
The movie will not only depict Ganguly’s journey as a cricketer but also highlight his tenure as BCCI president and his involvement with the Cricket Association of Bengal. Vikramaditya Motwane will be directing this ambitious project.
The pre-production work is currently in progress. If all goes according to schedule, the biopic is expected to hit theaters next year.
