The upcoming Independence Day will witness one of the biggest clashes in Indian cinema in recent times. Making the speculations true, Superstar Rajinikanth’s pan-India gangster drama, Coolie, has been confirmed for release on August 14th, 2025, to cash in on the I-Day weekend advantage.
With Coolie being released on Aug 14th, the trade circles will be witnessing a massive box office clash with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2, which also releases on the same date. Adding to the excitement, Coolie also features Bollywood star Aamir Khan and South stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, among others.
Both Coolie and War 2 are high-budget entertainers, with over Rs 500 crores at stake on both the movies. With Rajini joining forces with Lokesh Kanagaraj, the star director who hasn’t delivered a flop or a bad movie yet, the hype and excitement are massive for this pan-India project. On the other hand, War 2 has been a hot topic in Bollywood and Tollywood thanks to the face-off between Hrithik and NTR. Fans will have to wait for 4 more months to see which of these two movies will emerge victorious at the box office.
