Suriya Scored A Hit, But..

Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru became a big hit. The audiences, critics, and fans have great things to tell about the film. Interestingly, the Telugu version titled Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra also received well by the viewers. Suriya, who is not having a great run in career in the last few years, is elated with the success of Soorarai Pottru. Although the film has ended the actor’s failure streak, there has been a talk that the film would not be counted since it was released on a digital platform but not in the theatres.

Soorarai Pottru, based on the book ‘Simply Fly,’ was supposed to have a theatrical release, but due to lockdown, the film released on Amazon Prime Video. People who watched the film liked the emotional content in it. But, there are also doubts about repeating a similar result that had the film released in theatres. There will be a variation in success when the film is aimed for a theatrical release and online release. If the film were released in theatres, it would surely face competition from other biggies such as Vijay’s Master.

Soorarai Pottru has all the required elements to become a hit, but the film is altogether a different commercial film. Whatever it may be, Suriya scored a hit. The actor should continue the same for one more film and recreate the success at the theatres and prove to everyone that his career is back on track.
