KL Rahul, who hails from Bangalore, took his team, Delhi Capitals, to the victory line yesterday against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match took place at Chinnaswamy Stadium. After striking the winning shot, Rahul drew a circle on the ground and stomped his bat with authority at the center of it. While many wondered what it could be, he later gave clarity on the same.
Rahul explained the inspiration behind the celebration after the game. Inspired by the film Kantara, Rahul recreated a scene from the film, telling everyone that it was his ground.
“This is a special place for me. That celebration was from one of my favourite movies, Kantara. So, ya, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this turf, this home is where I have grown up and that this is mine,” KL Rahul said after the match.
“This is my ground, this is my home. I know this better than anybody else,” KL Rahul said at the post-match interview.
KL Rahul scored 93 runs and chased the total yesterday night. So far, DelhiCapitals did not lose a single match this season.
