A Positive Box Office Clash This Friday!

After weeks of dull response at the theatres, there’s finally some buzz at the box office this weekend, with two notable films gearing up for release. The first one is ‘Odela 2’, which arrives a day early on Thursday. Starring Tamannaah and directed by Sampath Nandi, the film has been heavily promoted. While the trade circles are showing decent interest, we’ll only know how regular audiences receive it once the morning shows kick off.

‘Odela 2’ is a supernatural thriller where the soul of a deceased man returns to his village and causes chaos, only to be countered by a divine feminine force. If it gets positive word of mouth, it could see a run similar to movies like Virupaksha and Ma Oori Polimera 2.

On Friday, Kalyan Ram’s ‘Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’ is hitting the screens. The actor has placed high hopes on the film. With Jr NTR backing the project and even attending the pre-release event, the movie has already gained momentum. The makers are focusing heavily on the mother-son emotion, especially highlighting a 15-minute climax scene featuring actress Vijayashanti that promises to move audiences to tears.

Each film has its strengths and weaknesses. ‘Odela 2’ looks intense but how well it justifies its horror elements will decide its fate. Tamannaah’s star value will definitely help. Meanwhile, ‘Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’ seems like a typical commercial drama, but if it keeps viewers engaged for over two hours without feeling routine, it could turn into a surprise hit—just like Pataas did for Kalyan Ram.
