Lokesh’s Red Book, Kavitha’s Pink Book!

When Nara Lokesh first announced the concept of the Red Book to protect TDP supporters from YSRCP leaders and certain government officials, several YCP leaders mocked the idea. When Lokesh introduced the Red Book during the 2024 election campaign, leaders like Kodali Nani, Ambati Rambabu, and others dismissed it, claiming they were least bothered by it.

However, today, the very same Red Book is trending across both Telugu states. Even Jagan himself has acknowledged the significant impact of the Red Book — a clear indication of the momentum this initiative by Lokesh has gathered.

YCP leaders like Ambati Rambabu have now started claiming that they too are maintaining their own books in response to Lokesh’s Red Book.

Interestingly, the influence of the Red Book has now crossed into Telangana politics as well. This became evident through a recent statement by BRS leader Kavitha. During an interaction with party workers, she remarked, “Many of our leaders are telling me they are being targeted by the Congress government. Let them know, I am also maintaining a Pink Book, recording the names of those who are troubling us. Once we return to power, they will face the consequences.”

It’s apparent that Kavitha’s Pink Book remark is directly inspired by Lokesh’s Red Book campaign. What began as a confidence-building move by Lokesh for the TDP cadre has now sparked a ripple effect — leading to rival versions in both the YSRCP and Telangana’s BRS.

When was the last time a political campaign had such widespread influence that even opposition parties in both Telugu states felt compelled to adopt their own versions?
