Back To Back Drug Allegations On Malayalam Actors

With Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko attracting controversy over drug consumption, more incidents are coming to light. Now, Malayalam producer Haseeb Malabar claimed that Sreenath Basi, who was a part of Manjummel Boys, demanded drugs on the film’s sets.

In a recent interview, Haseeb Malabar, who worked with Sreenath on the film Namukku Kodathiyal Kaanam, has come forward with serious allegations about the actor’s off-screen behavior. Haseeb claimed that Sreenath’s actions caused major disruptions during the shoot.

According to Haseeb, the actor would not cooperate on set unless he was given marijuana. Haseeb said he received a call at 3 am from Sreenath’s team, saying the actor was demanding drugs and wouldn’t participate in the shoot otherwise.

He also alleged that Sreenath used to bring marijuana to the set, hide it inside his caravan, and use it in between scenes. The actor reportedly wouldn’t let others into the caravan either. Haseeb admitted that he wanted to file a police complaint, but he feared that doing so would halt the film’s production. He said that other producers have faced similar issues without knowing what they were getting into.

This isn’t the first time Sreenath Bhasi has been linked to such controversies. In 2023, his name surfaced in connection with a drug case involving gangster Omprakash. Several industry members had then raised concerns about his behavior, and he was also briefly arrested for making inappropriate remarks about a TV anchor.
