Urvashi Rautela’s ‘Temple’ Remark Angers Badrinath Priests

Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has once again grabbed the attention of everyone on the internet. In a recent interview, Urvashi made a surprising claim that a temple has been built in her name in Uttarakhand, and she now hopes that fans in South India will build another temple. The comments are attracting trolls on social media who are targeting her.

Speaking in a recent interview, Urvashi said, “There is a temple named after me in Uttarakhand. If anyone goes to Badrinath, they should also visit my temple next door. At Delhi University, students even garlanded a photo of me. I was shocked when I found out, but it’s true.”

And then, Urvashi, who worked with Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, and Pawan Kalyan in Telugu cinema, claimed to have a decent fan base down South. “I have many fans in South as well. I’m even hoping to get a second temple built in my name in South India.”

When the anchor jokingly asked if people take her blessings at the temple, Urvashi replied, “It’s a temple. Whatever happens at temples happens there too.”

Netizens who watched the clip have been flooding the internet with humorous reactions. Many have called her “delusional” while others turned her statements into memes. Reacting to these comments, the priest who lives in Badrinath said, “There is Urvashi temple near Bamni. But the temple is not related to the actress. It is believed to be the site where Lord Vishnu emerged from his thigh or where a part of Goddess Sati’s body fell, making it a Shakti Peetha.”

Local priest Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal expressed deep disappointment, stating that Urvashi Rautela was misleading people by suggesting that the temple was dedicated to her.

“This is not her temple. Such statements are completely unacceptable. The government should take serious action against this kind of misinformation,” Uniyal said firmly.
