It is already known that Royal Challengers Bengaluru holds the record for the lowest score ever in a batting innings. This was against Kolkata Knight Riders back in 2017 when Bangalore got confined to just 49 runs in their batting innings.
This record stands firm even to this date as 49 is the least number of runs scored by any team in the history of the tournament.
However, coincidentally Royal Challengers Bengaluru came close to threatening this 49 record in the game against Punjab today.
At one point in their batting innings, Bengaluru versus 41-7. The ball was spinning square and Punjab bowlers were bamboozling the Bengaluru batters.
Hadn’t it been for Tim David, then Royal Challengers Bengaluru would have seriously fancied their chances of getting bowled out for under 49 runs. This would have been another unwanted record in the books of RCB.
But thanks to a blistering innings from Tim David. Bengaluru got to a fairly comfortable score of 95 runs in their 14 overs quota(reduced due to rain).
