Gopichand Teams Up with Young Director for Much Needed Comeback

Action hero Gopichand is one of the actors who almost everyone likes. He is non-controversial and gained a mass image during the beginning days of his career. Despite trying to come up with some successful potboilers and heartwarming movies, he is yet to score the success he truly deserves.

Unfortunately, his last movie, Viswam, directed by Sreenu Vaitla, also ended as a dud at the box office. Now, he has singed a new movie.

Gopichand will be teaming up with a new director Kumar Sai. BVSN Prasad will produce the film under the SVCC banner. Meenakshi Dinesh is the film’s leading lady, marking her debut with the film. She hails from Kerala. Last month, Gopichand also announced a film directed by Sankalp Reddy.

Now, the taste of the audience is rapidly changing, and they are not showing interest in turning up at theatres, despite the film being made under the combination of a noted hero and a big director. But, Gopichand seems to be following his gut feeling by working with new directors or filmmakers who are not in demand.

Sankalp Reddy’s only notable film is Ghazi. After that, he could not translate his success into his other movies. Now, Gopichand is working with a new director too. If these films are backed by solid content, there won’t be any problem, but if Gopichand attempts to take the commercial route and come up with another mass actioner, then he is definitely not keeping himself updated.

Before Viswam, Gopichand did Rama Banam and Bhimaa. Both the films also became flops. Now, Gopichand definitely needs to score a big hit. Otherwise, his market will further go down, and he will have to struggle to set up a new project.
