Star heroine Samantha is turning into a producer with the film “Shubham”, which is slated for theatrical release on May 9. Shubham was produced under Samantha’s Tralala Productions banner and directed by Praveen Kandregula.
Generally, star-studded films will have disparity in remuneration. The lead actors get remuneration as per their stardom. However, Samantha, as a producer, doesn’t believe in such disparity in payments. She said that she believes in equal skill, pay and experience; if at all, she ought to make a film with star actors.
When asked whether she would produce a film with stars in the future, Samantha said, “I never say never. Under Tralala Productions, I want to be very careful about every aspect. I believe in equal skill, equal remuneration and equal experience. It was easy for this film as everyone was a newcomer. I know that different kinds of films have different requirements. As much as possible, I want to make sure that equal skill, equal pay and equal experience.”
Though Samantha’s idea is noble, it is highly difficult to implement in an industry like Tollywood. But if she manages to implement this rule in the future with any of her production ventures, she would be a game changer for sure.
