Actress Aishwarya Rajesh has landed in controversy after posting a message about peace on social media during a time of growing tension between India and Pakistan. While the entire country is standing behind the Indian Army and strongly condemning Pakistan for recent violent attacks, Aishwarya’s post took a different route.
In her Instagram message, she wrote, “Say no to war. As a citizen of a democratic country, I appeal to both the Indian and Pakistani governments to choose peace over conflict. Let’s take steps towards understanding and avoid unnecessary loss of life. Soldiers, skilled people, and innocent citizens must not die. Let this message reach everyone.”
While her intention might have been to promote peace, many netizens didn’t take it well. People criticized her for not calling out Pakistan’s actions directly, especially after the recent pahalgam terror attack that killed innocent people. They argued that India is defending itself and that her message made it look like both countries are equally responsible.
Fans and social media users expressed disappointment, saying that she should have addressed the ongoing aggression and terrorism from Pakistan before preaching peace. Some even questioned whether she was aware of the ground reality at all.
At this time public emotions are too high and majority of Indians believe that it’s the time to stand united with the Indian Army, not post neutral statements.
