Chiru Should Not Have Met Veteran K Viswanath garu?

Chiranjeevi’s meeting with veteran director and nonagenarian (90 year old) K Viswanath has become a talking point. Chiru along with his wife Surekha has met K Viswanath on the eve of Diwali and took his blessings. Now this is being pointed out.

When some media representatives questioned Telangana Public Health Director G Srinivasa Rao on Chiranjeevi’s public outing, he made it clear. “No Covid test is 100 percent accurate. Anyone who tested positive once should strictly adhere to the Covid guidelines prescribed by the ICMR irrespective one is symptomatic or asymptomatic or one is tested negative or not. There are clear instructions laid out by the ICMR. I urge everyone to follow these. Even after Vaccine becomes available, one should maintain physical distance and use mask, thorough hand sanitization to prevent the spread of Corona Virus.”

Chiru, who initially tested ‘positive’ for Corona Virus and confirmed the same, has later announced that all the subsequent Covid test results reported he is ‘negative’ for Covid. In a latest statement, Chiru said his first report result was “wrong” and said that it was due to “faulty” RT-PCR test kit. Chiru said he got doubt on the initial result after he had no symptoms and did not develop any signs of Covid for the first two days.

Chiru is said to have undergone multiple Covid tests at different test centers and all showed him negative. Even though Chiru claims that he is not infected by Corona Virus and the initial reports were wrong due to faulty RT-PCR test kit, many opine that Chiru should have been in quarantine. Telangana Public Health Director G Srinivasa Rao too opined the same.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), quarantine is mandatory for all who test positive once. ICMR rules state that anyone who tested positive for Covid-19 once should be under quarantine for two weeks even after one tested negative. ICMR made it clear that the same is applicable even when one is asymptomatic.
