In a heartfelt and candid interview with Gulte Pro, actor Manchu Manoj shared the story of his journey his childhood dreams, his love for martial arts, and his return to films after a long break.
Growing up in Rayalaseema and Chennai, Manoj was inspired by action legends like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. A childhood incident made him take up karate, and that was just the beginning. He trained in boxing, MMA, and even spent months in Phuket learning advanced martial arts.
After a break in 2006, Manoj focused on improving his skills, traveling to Los Angeles for UFC training. But a trip to Rishikesh turned out to be life-changing. A conversation with a priest friend there helped him find clarity and direction in life.
Manoj also spoke warmly about his strong friendships, some lasting since his school days. A family trip to Singapore brought back sweet memories, showing his emotional side beyond the action hero image.
He marked his comeback with the film Mirai, calling it a fresh start. He fondly recalled working on films like Nenu Meeku Telusa, Prayanam, Vedam, and Potugadu, and also shared his honest take on remakes that didn’t go as planned.
A highlight of the talk was his bond with music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, especially their work on the hit song “Oke Oka Jeevitham.” Manoj shared the fun and memories behind it.
Looking ahead, Manoj is excited about his upcoming film Bhairavam and wants to take on diverse roles. His story is one of passion, persistence, and personal growth—a new chapter that fans are eager to watch unfold.
