As deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan’s office issued a press note, addressing the Tollywood film associations. The message is crystal clear that the government of AP is not happy with the functioning of the movie industry. Pawan is basically frustrated that the film associations have not met the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh after the government has formed. In this context, producer Naga Vamsi shared a tweet on social media, alleging that the lack of common sense is the cause.
The root cause of the entire issue is the decision of exhibitors association to shut down the theatres from June 1st. The government of AP perceived it as a potential threat to Pawan Kalyan’s next release, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The cinematography minister ordered a probe into it alleging that “Aa Naluguru” from the Tollywood are behind this move. In no time, the press meet from Pawan’s office shook the film industry.
Meanwhile, Naga Vamsi who worked with Pawan Kalyan in the past wrote, “Unnecessary issues created at times when focus was needed elsewhere have led to much bigger problems, ones that could have been easily avoided if common sense had taken the driver’s seat.”
According to Naga Vamsi, the issues between distributors and exhibitors could have been handled amicably but some unnecessary issues diverted their focus from the actual problem, leading to much bigger problems now, with an official threat from the government of AP. In all this, Naga Vamsi clearly stated that the lack of common sense landed them in the situation.
We have to see if more people from the film industry come forward with their opinions and we also await the film associations seek appointment to meet CM Chandra Babu Naidu at least now.
