The chief minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Niti Aayog meeting that took place in Delhi yesterday. Revanth took the occasion to secure grants for Telangana from the central government regarding multiple projects.
As stated by Revanth Reddy, he discussed the need to have an accelerated closure for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase 2, because the neglect of 10 years to increase metro footprint has pushed Telangana back nationally. We wish to augment existing Metro with three corridors in next phase of 76.40 kms with five corridors.
The next big project of importance for Telangana is the Regional Ring Road (RRR) divided into the north & south arcs. Reportedly, Reddy requested the Prime Minister to order for a quick closure of the entire project.
Revanth reportedly had an elongated meeting with the Prime Minister, which turned out to be keenly fruitful in the greater interests of Telangana.
It is very interesting to note that Reddy never misses the occasion to question Modi on policy making but still remains in the centre’s good books while fighting for Telangana’s interests.
