‘Sandeep Vanga Engaged In Social Media Fights’

Remember when the infamous action drama ‘Animal’ was released in 2023, Anurag Kashyap had shared a picture of Sandeep Reddy by penning a long note to praise him” 

Kashyap said, “the most misunderstood, judged and reviled filmmaker at the moment” and highlighted Vanga’s honesty, vulnerability, and that he’s “a person you can actually confront and talk to”.

Of late, there has been a social media discussion kicked off about the topic. 

Soon after the post, director Neeraj Ghaywan wrote “cringe” while lyricist Varun Grover said, “No”. Grover recently said in an interview that Kashyap had actually defended Sandeep Reddy but not his film Animal.

Grover said to defend a work of art is one thing and defend an artist is another thing. Grover further elaborated saying Kashyap was actually not defending the film but the filmmaker and his behavior in public as well as on social media. “There was nothing in the post about the film but all about the filmmaker,” he added.

Grover said Sandeep Vanga is a filmmaker who is engaged in social media fights and “behaved obnoxiously”. He said Sandeep even arrogantly told Javed Akthar that he cannot write or doesn’t have a sense of writing. Grover said he wrote “No” because Kashyap was shielding the filmmaker not the film.

Soon after that Kashyap called Grover immediately on the phone and sought an explanation for the comment. That was when Kashyap had agreed to Grover’s comment and logic. Kashyap has a clean heart and mind. “He understands situations and people with clarity. We’ve talked about the topic many times since then,” Grover said.
