DSP Missing Deadlines?

Devi Sri Prasad is a star music composer who is facing criticism lately for not meeting deadlines. Sam CS has replaced the sensational composer for scoring the BGM of Pushpa 2 as the team felt his BGM might not meet expectations, and there were also discussions about extending the deadline. Now, according to reports, Kubera is yet to deliver two more songs. With the film’s release in two weeks, the pending work is a remark on his career.

The fans of DSP are genuinely unhappy with the line of work he has displayed in the last few years. The charm that is associated with DSP’s tunes is clearly missing. Despite that, the films like Pushpa is bringing him back to the limelight. But, what remains as a mystery is the delays that are associated with DSP, especially when he do not have handful of projects.

In 2022, DSP had 8 releases, but then, Waltair Veerayya was the only release in 2023. In 2024, DSP had 2 Tamil releases and one Telugu release, which is Pushpa 2, for which he did songs and some portions of BGM. So far this year, DSP had a single release in the form of Thandel. Up next, he has Kubera and Junior. Apart from that, there are projects for which he is being considered but nothing has been finalized.

With such a slim kitty, Devi Sri Prasad was unable to deliver the work within the specified time frame. It is only adding a negative buzz around him, with an opinion that the others are way better when it comes to finishing up things. Kubera was announced three years ago and Devi Sri Prasad’s inclusion was also confirmed back then. The film’s shoot began an year and a half ago. Still, two songs are to be delivered, according to the producer.

On the flip side, a few say that the team held an audio function event already in Chennai and why does the question of two more songs come now. At the same time, the producer himself also revealed that he can not pin the blame on DSP and it depends on the director as to how he is coordinating.

In the middle of all this, DSP is making headlines for unpleasant reasons. Hope DSP answers everything with a blockbuster album soon.
