Allu Arjun and Atlee’s Magnum Opus Launched; Shoot Begins Tomorrow

After delivering blockbusters like Jawan and Pushpa 2: The Rule, director Atlee and Icon Star Allu Arjun are joining forces for one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious ventures yet. The project, tentatively titled ‘AA22xA6’, grabbed headlines with an announcement video offering a sneak peek into its massive pre-production, featuring collaborations with top studios from across the United States.

Following an extensive pre-production phase, the makers are finally ready to roll. So far, the only official confirmations are Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone as the leads in this Atlee directorial, bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor are also on board as female leads, though formal announcements are still awaited.

The team kickstarted the journey with a grand pooja ceremony in Mumbai earlier today, attended by the entire cast and crew. This was followed by a photoshoot, which will be revealed in upcoming announcements. The action-packed shoot begins tomorrow in Mumbai.

Joining Allu Arjun in the first schedule is Mrunal Thakur, who plays one of the pivotal roles. Key sequences that set the tone for the film will be canned in this leg. Set in a parallel universe, ‘AA22xA6’ promises a high-octane action drama, loaded with cutting-edge VFX and next-level world-building. Buzz is that Allu Arjun will be seen in a triple role—a signature Atlee touch!

With the regular shoot commencing tomorrow, the film is slated for an extensive schedule throughout 2025. The makers are eyeing a grand multi-language theatrical release in late 2026. Deepika Padukone, the main female lead, is expected to join the team in the latter half of this year. Mounted on a staggering budget of ₹700 crore, AA22xA6 is produced by Sun Pictures, with music by the promising Sai Abhyankar, who is making his big leap into cinema.
