Filmmakers are chasing numbers these days, and an actor’s stardom is gauged based on how many 1000-crore grossers he has in his career. But Nagarjuna says that he doesn’t chase numbers anymore because records are meant to be broken someday. He said he set many records in the past, which were broken in later years.
In a recent interview, Nagarjuna was asked whether he had pressure to join this club of 1000 crores and 1500 crores. Responding to the same, Nagarjuna said, “I never got stuck in these numbers. These numbers are temporary. It is 1000 and two years from now, it will be 2000. If you look at my earlier films, I had so many records. Every film’s record was broken. So, it doesn’t matter after a while.”
Nagarjuna said he has been looking forward to experimenting with new kinds of roles over the last few years, and Brahmastra opened the doors for him to play such impactful key roles. This year, he is coming with two films, in which he plays different kinds of roles.
His upcoming release will be Kuberaa, in which he acted alongside Dhanush. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa is set for a grand release on June 20. After this, Nagarjuna will be seen as an antagonist in Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which is set for a release on August 14. There are high expectations of his character in both films, and his fans are hoping to see him strike back hard with these outings.
