One of the infamous habits incorporated by former chief minister YS Jagan was the tenacity to have “Paradhas” (protective fabrics on either side of the roads) during his public visits. This is one of the principal reasons why he was named as “Paradha CM” by the then opposition leaders.
In this context, the new government has clearly instructed the security and protocol authorities not to use this protective fabric during CM’s visits. But there are these occasional instances when certain lapses are happening and these Paradhas are still showing up.
One such incident happened while chief minister Chandrababu visited Vizag to supervise the Yoga Day activities. He addressed a crucial meeting at the Novotel Hotel in Vizag.
During this meeting, the local authorities covered the corridor of the hotel with white fabric to prevent public interference. Incidentally, Lokesh arrived on this spot and immediately spoke with the police personnel and got the Paradhas removed.
Reportedly Lokesh funnily remarked that the time of “Paradha CM” is over and this new government is completely against this culture. It appears that Lokesh and Chandrababu want the new government to be completely distant from the misdeeds of the previous regime.
