The much-awaited first look of Aamir Khan from Rajinikanth’s Coolie has been unveiled today, putting an end to weeks of speculation. Though it was widely known that Aamir Khan would be seen in a cameo, the makers have finally made it official with the release of his character poster.
Aamir Khan plays Dahaa, and his rugged, massy look is already creating buzz. In the poster, Aamir is seen in a raw avatar, holding a smoking pipe with smoke swirling around him. His bearded, intense appearance and casual vest add to the gritty atmosphere that Coolie promises to bring.
Interestingly, Aamir himself recently confirmed that he appears towards the end of the film, in the crucial climax portions. Despite being a cameo, Dahaa’s role is said to be impactful and designed to leave a lasting impression. Adding to the excitement, Aamir also revealed that he will team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a full-fledged superhero film in the near future.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is among the most anticipated films this year. With Superstar Rajinikanth leading the cast, the film also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, while Anbariv handles the action choreography.
Apart from the star cast, Coolie is also making headlines for its box-office clash with YRF’s War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR, on August 14th. With Aamir Khan’s cameo bringing added buzz in Bollywood circles, the clash is expected to be one of the biggest talking points this Independence Day. Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie will hit theatres in IMAX, DBOX and 4DX formats.
