Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, is gearing up for release on July 24. The big-budget period drama is being mounted on a large scale by producer A.M. Rathnam under the Mega Surya Production banner. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A.M. Jyothi Krishna, the film has completed major post-production work and is in its final stages.
The trailer, which dropped recently, received an encouraging response, leading to strong interest from distributors. Initially, Rathnam held off on selling the rights (barring overseas and Hindi), but the current market response has changed that. With several buyers coming forward, the film’s rights are now being sold at a premium.
While the film was earlier speculated to be based on a folk hero, sources close to the unit confirm it is a fictional narrative rooted in mythology. The story presents the lead character, Veera Mallu, as a symbolic incarnation of both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva—positioned as a protector of Sanatana Dharma. Drawing parallels to Ayyappa Swamy, the film integrates elements like Garuda and Damarukam to represent this dual divinity.
Pawan Kalyan will be seen in a new avatar as a rebellious outlaw who takes on the Mughal empire. The film also features Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, and others in key roles. Music is composed by M.M. Keeravani, with cinematography handled by Gnana Shekar V.S. and Manoj Paramahamsa, and editing by K.L. Praveen.
