Telugu Stars Turning Family Men!

For the last few years, Telugu star heroes have been going after larger-than-life pan-India action films to score hits at the box office. But the stupendous success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam proved that audiences are now craving family entertainers rather than action dramas. Thus, many of our heroes have changed the route and are focusing on family entertainers. Here is a look at such upcoming films.

1. Mega 157:

Megastar Chiranjeevi teamed up with star director Anil Ravipudi for his 157th film. Reportedly, Chiru will be seen as PET Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad in this movie. Touted to be a complete family comedy entertainer, Mega 157 is slated for release during the next Sankranthi.

2. Venky-Trivikram Film:

It is being reported that Venkatesh will soon team up with Trivikram for a family drama. After the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Venkatesh is planning to return with yet another family film. Reportedly, this film may get launched in August. It is heard that the makers are considering the titles “C/o Ananda Nilayam”, “Venkata Ramana” and “Anandaramaiah” for this movie.

3. The Raja Saab:

Prabhas has been doing action films for a long time, and taking a break, he is now coming with “The Raja Saab”, a horror-comedy. We hear that the film will appeal to all sections of the audience and can be watched with the entire family in theatres.

4. Anarkali:

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja teamed up with Kishore Tirumala for a new film. Reportedly titled Anarkali, it seems that this film will also be a family entertainer. It has been a long time since Ravi Teja acted in a complete family movie, and hopefully, Anarkali fills that void.

5. Venky Atluri- Suriya Film:

After scoring two straight hits with Sir and Lucky Baskhar, Venky Atluri joined hands with hero Suriya for his new film. Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon are playing other key roles in it. We hear that the film is a family drama which explores the emotions and relationships within families. It is heard that the makers are considering to title it “Vishwanathan and Sons”.

6. Ananganaga Oka Raju:

Young hero Naveen Polishetty took a long break after Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty and is now working on his next, Anaganaga Oka Raju. Featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, this movie is a complete family entertainer set in the rural Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh.
