The chances for Telugu heroines are very few, a statement often made by many heroines. From Swathi Reddy to Eesha Rebba, many Telugu-speaking girls openly admitted that they are not given the first priority and are often not taken into consideration. This is going to be true with another proof surfacing now. Sridevi of Court fame, who received immense love from the audiences and was also a box office success, signed her next, but in Tamil.
Soon after Court was released, Sridevi stayed in the limelight for quite some time. She garnered all the attention, especially with the song, Premalo. As a debut, she scored good marks with distinction and also displayed her dancing skills. Many thought that she would be flooded with a couple of opportunities, but it looks like nothing worked in her favour, and she is gearing up for her debut in Tamil.
The other day, Sridevi participated in the launch of her first film in Tamil, starring producer KJR in the lead role. Producer KJR, who made films like Hero, Doctor, and Alayan with Sivakarthikeyan, is debuting as an actor. His first film has already kicked off, and he has started his second film now. Regan Stanislaus is the director of the film.
Either Sridevi must have received offers from Telugu filmmakers, and nothing could have been as substantial as Court. Or, she might not have received any offers. However, her focus shift to Tamil cinema is surely raising doubts if Telugu speaking girls do not have a flourishing career in Telugu film industry.
