Director Rajamouli, or any director for that matter, when they have achieved success and continue to rule the industry, would shy away from talking about their best work. They always prefer to express an opinion that the best is yet to come which helps to keep themselves grounded. But, Rajamouli has confessed that Eega is his best film and this happened during the pre-release event of the film Junior.
During the pre-release event, when some pictures were displayed on the screen, Rajamouli shared some fond memories about his career. While he opened up on Eega, he also revealed about how he broke the criticism that he restricts himself only to making mass movies.
On Eega, Rajamouli clearly stated that it is his best film without any hesitation. In fact, it is true that he has gone to many extremes in terms of making a film with advanced technology, keeping fly as the central character which itself is an experiment that worked out big time across the nation. The film introduced Rajamouli to people outside the Telugu film industry.
On the other hand, Rajamouli said that Sye is an experiment in a way. After Simhadri, many criticised that Rajamouli can do mass action films only. So, he took it as a challenge to break the myth and answer the criticism by doing a film centered around Rugby game, which is very new to the Telugu audiences. He made the youthful drama so lively with a proper emotion that he could easily erase the mass director tag.
Currently, Rajamouli is working on an untitled project, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role. The film’s shoot is in progress.
