Viral Ad: Superstar Stuns Everyone By Wearing Female Jewellery

Generally, we see either actresses or female models flaunting gold or diamond necklaces in a jewellery brand’s ad. But Vinsmera Jewels took an unconventional route to promote their jewellery. They roped in Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal as their brand ambassador and in the company’s new ad, Mohanlal stunned everyone by playing a hero with a feminine character flaunting the Vinsmera’s jewellery.

This ad was directed by renowned ad filmmaker Prakash Varma, who also recently made his acting debut with the Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum, in which he played the role of the antagonist. In this ad, Mohanlal plays himself, who steals jewellery from the sets, only to wear them inside his caravan.

While other jewellery brands like Kalyan Jewellers, Malabar Gold and Jos Alukkas also have male ambassadors, they never took such an unconventional route to make stars promote their brand. With this gender fluid ad, Vinsmera grabbed everyone’s attention.

And no one in the Malayalam film industry could have pulled it off better than Mohanlal. In the age where stars are craving to do hyper masculine roles, it is heartening to see Mohanlal opting for such versatile roles, justifying his title “Complete Actor”.
