Not A Good Comeback For Sr Heroines

Senior actresses taking a break after marriage and making a comeback after a few years is a norm in the film industry. This year, we have seen three such actresses who made their comeback after decades. However, all three heroines faced disappointment in their comeback.

Anshu, known for her work in Manmadhudu and Raghavendra, made her comeback in Telugu cinema nearly two decades later with Mazaka. This Sundeep Kishan-starrer film was released earlier this year and ended up as a flop at the box office.

Laya, a popular actress in the early 2000s, made her comeback recently with Nithiin’s Thammudu. Laya played a pivotal role in the movie, but it failed to live up to expectations and became a huge failure in theatres.

Genelia ruled the Telugu film industry in the 2000s by acting alongside various star heroes in multiple successful films. However, she took a break after getting married to Ritesh Deshmukh. After 13 years, she made a comeback with Junior. This movie was released recently and opened to a negative response from the audience. It was criticised for its age-old story and lacklustre screenplay. Even the response from the audience hasn’t been encouraging. Thus, the much-awaited comeback of Genelia turned out to be a huge disappointment.
