NTR is working with director Prashanth Neel for a project tentatively titled Dragon. The film’s shoot is currently in progress and NTR underwent a shocking transformation for the film. With the film being made on a pan-India scale, there will be actors from other languages as well.
Interestingly, the film will mark Tovino Thomas’ debut in Telugu. Now, the big question is will he emerge successful or end up getting criticized like Fahadh Faasil?
When Fahadh Faasil entered the Pushpa franchise, everyone felt that Sukumar pulled out a game-changing move, considering Fahadh’s nature of being very selective about the films he does. While his presence in the first part brought success, the scene reversed with his presence in the second part.
Now, the NTR-Neel project is also a much-awaited film in the country. With the film being in discussions for a long time, it is finally taking a shape now. In fact, despite his market opening up, Tovino Thomas always stayed away from acting in other languages. He did films with Mythri Movie Makers but he never actively pursued the chance to do a straight Telugu film, with a big director and actor.
Now that Tovino is a part of Dragon, we are entirely not sure of the role he is playing the amount of screen time he will be getting in the film. Assuming it to be a negative character, it must be extremely badass enough to instantly catch the limelight and attention. If his character ends up in noman’s land like how Fahadh’s from Pushpa 2 did, he will also bound to take a lot of criticism.
NTR-Neel project might pull off some craze with the addition of Tovino but it must also live up to the expectations.
