Aamir Khan’s last release, Sitaare Zameen Par, performed decent at the Box Office. The film has no connection with the first part, Taare Zameen Par, but the actor tried to present the film in such a manner that people could relate to it. However, he also surprised many by announcing that the film won’t be available on OTT for 6 months after its theatrical release. But now, the film will turn up on YouTube.
In a press meet, Aamir Khan announced that the film will now be available to watch for a price of 100 rupees. It will be a groundbreaking announcement, and if that works, many big players will shift their attention to YouTube before bringing the film to OTT platforms.
Aamir had strongly claimed that there would be no early digital release, which shocked many and convinced audiences of a new approach. But now, with the YouTube release coming just 50 days after its theatrical run, some audiences are trolling Aamir for going back on his words, alleging it was all a strategy to grab attention.
However, the concern here is that there are chances for the film getting pirated. Moreover, the gap between the theatrical release and the YouTube release is now just 50 days. As of now, the team is hoping to bring a lot of viewership to the film on YouTube such that the new revenue model works and becomes a revolution in the OTT space.
Directed by RS Prasanna, the film tells the story of a basketball coach who serves community service by training Neurodivergent adults after a DUI. His outlook changes as he learns from his players.
