Shweta Menon, a prominent actress from the Malayalam film industry, has been booked for allegedly earning money by distributing obscene films online. A public activist, Martin Menachery, filed a complaint and upon acting on the same, the Ernakulam CJM Court directed the police to take necessary action.
A case has been filed under Section 67 (a) of the IT ACT, reportedly. Additionally, the police registered an FIR under the Prevention of Obscenity Act and the IT Act. The complainant argued that Shweta was voluntarily a part of a few movies, along with a condom advertisement, which consisted of nudity, and she had done it for financial benefit.
