Confirmed: Balayya’s Clash With Pawan Kalyan Is Still On

Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu’s hat-trick blockbuster combo is returning with Akhanda 2: Tandavam, and the release date is once again confirmed for September 25. The production house 14 Reels confirmed the news by sharing a photo of Balayya and Boyapati, fresh from completing the dubbing work. Only one final song remains to be filmed, which the team plans to wrap up this month. Meanwhile, post-production and VFX work are moving at full speed.

The reason this date created so much buzz is the inevitable box office clash with OG. Interestingly, Akhanda 2 had locked this date long before OG came into the picture and carefully scheduled its shoot to meet the deadline. When OG announced the same release day, speculation began that one of the films might back out. But with both teams standing firm, the competition is heating up. Distributors are already debating how opening-day collections will be split between Balayya and Pawan Kalyan.

Now it’s official, OG vs Akhanda 2 is on. With less than 50 days to go, promotions are about to kick into high gear. OG has already dropped its first audio single, while Akhanda 2 is yet to launch its musical campaign. Adding more spice to the clash, both films have music composed by Thaman, which means inevitable comparisons are coming.
