Folk songs always resonate with the people from the ground level. However, there is a thin line between mass lyrics and objectionable lyrics. Netizens on social media allege that “Ole Ole” from Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Mass Jathara falls in the second category. They are criticising the alleged objectionable lyrics of the song.
Ole Ole was composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, and the lyrics were penned by Bhaskar Yadav Dasari. The song features words like Nee amma, Nee Ayya, Nee akka, Nee Chelli, Gunta, Nee Ollokochi Panta, Siggu Ledu, Sheramu Ledu and Laagu Ledu. Many people found these phrases and words vulgar and are trolling the song for the same. They argue that while folk songs should be encouraged, the lyrics must stay within certain boundaries and not cross the line under the guise of folk expression.
The same combo of Ravi Teja and Bheems delivered hit folk-style songs like Dhanda Kadiyal and Jinthak Chitak in the past. However, their experiment of delivering an Uttarandhra style folk song backfired with Ole Ole. Meanwhile, makers are yet to respond to the criticism and trolls on the song. It remains to be seen if they choose to respond.
Directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, Mass Jathara features Sreeleelthe as the heroine. It is slated for a worldwide release on August 27, on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi.
