Former Achampet BRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju has officially joined the BJP, just three days after resigning from the BRS.
Balaraju met BJP state president Ramachandra Rao in Hyderabad and discussed his political future. He said he decided to join the BJP after consulting his supporters and listening to the views of the people in his constituency.
The former MLA was a close aide of BRS working president KTR, but in recent months, he was reportedly unhappy with the party leadership. Sources suggest internal differences and lack of recognition for his work in the constituency pushed him toward the BJP.
Balaraju will be formally welcomed into the BJP in a ceremony tomorrow, in the presence of senior party leaders. His entry is seen as a boost for the BJP in Nagarkurnool district ahead of upcoming elections.
