Before release, War 2 carried good buzz, especially in Telugu states because of Jr NTR’s presence. Fans expected the same energy they showed for Devara to be repeated here as well. But once the film hit the screens, the reality turned out to be very different.
In Bollywood, the film is surviving only because of Hrithik Roshan. With no major Hindi releases around, audiences are left with limited options and naturally turned to War 2. Hrithik’s charisma, screen presence, and loyal fan base are giving the film decent numbers. The film is being seen more as a Hrithik Roshan spectacle than a two hero film, and that is what is keeping it afloat in the north.
The Telugu scenario is completely different. Collections here are nowhere near the hype created before release. Unlike Devara, where NTR fans owned the movie and pushed it with passion, War 2 is not getting that same backing. Fans are disappointed with the way his role has been shaped, and the regular audience is not finding enough to celebrate. This lack of strong support has directly affected the numbers.
In the north, Hrithik is driving War 2 forward with his unmatched craze. In the south, NTR’s star power is not helping the film in the same way, proving that War 2 is more of a Hrithik vehicle than a pan India success story.
