Ramya Krishnan joins the cast of the Allu Arjun-Atlee film, AA22xA6

After the monumental success of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun is now embarking on his next project, directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, tentatively called AA22xA6. The film is under production with enormous investment by Sun Pictures and is said to be a sci-fi fantasy action drama. Additionally, it is already one of the most ambitious Indian films to be put into production, with an additional cast of top stars and international technicians.

The makers have already revealed Deepika Padukone as the female lead, while rumors also bubbled up assigning Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna , and Janhvi Kapoor to significant roles. Now, according to reports, Ramya Krishnan has been added to the cast in a substantial role. This will be her first collaboration with Allu Arjun and Atlee jointly. Ramya, who gained legendary status for her role as Sivagami in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali series, is expected to have an important role in this imaginary world.

AA22xA6 began shooting in June 2025, which is currently happening in Mumbai, where portions featuring Allu Arjun and Mrunal Thakur are being filmed. Shooting is expected to go until early 2026, with a worldwide release slated for late 2026. Sources have suggested that Ramya Krishnan is expected to join the sets in upcoming schedules.

Atlee is reportedly going beyond his regular commercial filmmaking mode. The film is reported to be a visual effects-heavy, high-concept , mind-bending spectacle that is set in a parallel universe. The film has hired Spiro Razatos, a Hollywood stunt director widely known for directing stunt action for Fast & Furious 9, Civil War, and Jawan, to support the integrity of the physical action. Leading VFX studios based in Los Angeles are also on the project to shape the technical dimensions of this film. Music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar.

With Ramya Krishnan in the cast, we can assume the ensemble is going to take on a lot more depth, and it could rally broader audience engagement. For Allu Arjun, coming off the success of Pushpa 2, and Atlee, who recently scored with Jawan, this film is a pan-Indian project with the potential to gain acceptance across markets.
