Seven Flops In A Row For Mega Family

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s family has introduced one of the largest number of heroes in the Telugu film industry. Right from Pawan Kalyan to Vaishnav Tej, many actors come from this family. However, this mega family for the last few years is going through a dull phase. Apart from Allu Arjun, no other hero from the family has scored a hit for the last two years.

From 2023 July, we witnessed seven consecutive flops from the mega family (excluding Allu Arjun), with Bro, Bholaa Shankar, Gandheevadhari Arjuna, Operation Valentine, Matka, Game Changer and Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

Megastar Chiranjeevi scored his last hit in 2023 with Waltair Veerayya. After that, he was seen in Bholaa Shankar, which turned out to be a super flop. His upcoming film Vishwambhara has been getting delayed for a long time due to pending post-production work. On the other side, he is also working on another project with Anil Ravipudi. It remains to be seen if Chiru comes back strong with these films.

After a long gap, Pawan Kalyan returned to the cinemas with Hari Hara Veera Mallu recently. Unfortunately, it ended up as his biggest disaster. Now, his fans pinned all hopes on his upcoming film, OG, which is slated for release on September 25. Apart from that, Pawan is also working on his other project Ustaad bhagat singh with director Harish Shankar.

After RRR, Ram Charan was seen in Acharya and Game Changer. Both films ended up as disasters at the box office. Despite investing more than three years in Game Changer, Ram Charan got nothing but a bitter result with it. Now, he is aiming to strike back hard with his next film Peddi, which is slated for release on March 27, 2026.

Varun Tej has been struggling to score a good hit as a solo lead for a long time. His last hit came in 2019 with Gaddalakonda Ganesh. His 2022 film F3 was a hit too, but it was a multi-starrer and an anticipated sequel. His other films, like Ghani, Ghandeevadhari Arjuna, Operation Valentine and Matka, ended up as huge disasters. Now, Varun is working on an action comedy with Merlapaka Gandhi, which is slated for release in 2026.

Like Varun Tej, Sai Durgha Tej has also been struggling to score a hit for a long time. Apart from Virupaksha, none of his films in the last six years became successful at the box office. He is aiming to score a bigger hit than Virupaksha with his next film Sambarala Yeti Gattu (SYG), which is slated for release later this year.

Sai Durgha Tej’s younger brother, Vaishnav Tej, made a striking debut with the 100-crore grosser Uppena. Later, he delivered back-to-back flops with Kondapolam, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and Adi Keshava. Vaishnav is yet announced a new film in the last two years. Reportedly, he is being careful with his script choices and would make a comeback only when he finds the right script.

Not only mega heroes but even Mega fans are heartbroken by these consecutive flops and badly want their favourite actors to make a strong comeback. Let’s see if any mega hero ends this long wait soon.
