R. Narayana Murthy, known for his revolutionary films, is returning back to theatres after a long gap, with his new film “University”. Apart from acting in the lead role, he wrote, directed, produced and composed the music for the film. Touted to be a social drama, University is slated for theatrical release on August 22.

Generally, Narayana Murthy is known for maintaining a low-profile lifestyle. Even during the release of his films, he won’t promote them aggressively. Narayana Murthy is known for rejecting many offers in the past. He politely rejected Puri Jagannath’s offer to act in a constable role in Jr NTR’s Temper. Recently, Trivikram, who attended the pre-release event of University as a chief guest, also revealed that he planned to cast Narayana Murthy in a role for one of his films, but he was told that Narayana Murthy won’t do it as he is someone who cannot be bought with remuneration.

Probably, the veteran actor-director decided to step out of his comfort zone and promote the film aggressively to appeal to the younger generation of audiences. The story of the University deals with the social injustice done to Telugu medium students in the current society. It is a film that talks about students and aims to draw their attention, and there is no powerful medium than social media for him to make the film reach youngsters. Maybe that is the reason why Narayana Murthy has been actively promoting the film.

After seeing his wide digital presence, people are expressing their desire to watch him play important roles in other films too. It remains to be seen if Narayana Murthy does that in the future.
