Fans Expecting A Jailer, Coolie From Chiru!

Megastar Chiranjeevi is one among the Superstars who have been ruling the cinema industry for decades. In a career spanning over five decades, Chiranjeevi delivered many blockbusters and essayed many versatile roles. However, some of his fans on social media have opined that Chiranjeevi’s choice of films and his acting have become bland since his comeback in 2017.

They are comparing Chiru’s choices with the choices made by the likes of Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal and Mammooty in their 60s and 70s. While others are doing age-appropriate roles, a section of people feels that Chiranjeevi is stuck in a loop of doing roles that are much younger than his age.

After his comeback, Chiranjeevi was seen in multiple films like Khaidi No 150, Syeraa Narasimha Reddy, Acharya, Godfather, Waltair Veerayya and Bholaa Shankar. Apart from Godfather, none of the other films featured Chiranjeevi in an age-appropriate role. “It is a fact that fans would want him to see him dance and bash goons like a superhero, but that doesn’t mean that he needs to play younger roles and have a young heroine opposite him,” argue a section of fans.

They say that Rajinikanth has been doing age-appropriate mass masala flicks like Petta, Jailer and Coolie, without having a younger heroine alongside him. They say that while Tamilians celebrate Rajinikanth, they are feeling insecure because Chiranjeevi isn’t able to give them a film like a Jailer or even a Coolie, for that matter.

Other senior actors like Kamal Haasan (Vikram), Mohanlal (Lucifer, Empuraan, Thudaram), and Mammootty (Bheeshma Parvam, Bramhayugam) have also been delivering some pathbreaking films, giving a reason for their fans to celebrate. Chiranjeevi fans are also hoping that the actor delivers such path-breaking films of versatile genres, which suit his age and calibre. Let’s see if Chiru is paying attention to his fans’ wishes.
