Big films in Telugu cinema often take a long time to finish, and sometimes face changes in plans. Pawan Kalyan’s film Hari Hara Veera Mallu is one such example. The movie was announced as his first pan-Indian film, but after many delays it finally released in July. The film did not do well at the box office and the response was not positive.
The film was first directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. He worked on the project for a long time and even shot big portions on grand sets. But because of long schedules and Pawan Kalyan’s busy political life, Krish had to leave the film. Later, producer AM Rathnam’s son Jyothi Krishna completed the movie.
Now, during promotions of his upcoming film Ghaati, Krish shared details about what happened with Hari Hara Veera Mallu. He said that he had already shot about 40 minutes of important footage, which did not release yet. Those scenes will appear in the second part of the film. He explained that his version of the story was mostly set in Delhi, showing Veera Mallu’s fight with Aurangzeb and the stealing of the Kohinoor diamond. He also spoke about a fight scene on a chandelier, which was shot on a huge set in Annapurna Studios.
Krish said that only 30 to 40 percent of his work was used in the final film. The script and treatment were changed after he left. He admitted that this left him a bit disappointed, but also added that he respects producer AM Rathnam and Pawan Kalyan. He praised the producer’s passion and also said Pawan Kalyan performed the stunts very well. Krish also said he would like to work with the actor again in the future.
Right now, Krish is busy with his new film Ghaati, starring Anushka. The movie is set in the AP–Odisha border area and is releasing on September 5.
